Summer 2016 Bookings in Full Swing!
Planning a campervan hire holiday during the New Zealand summer season? You may think you have plenty of time to get organized, but this may not be the case. During peak season the campervan supply in New Zealand is very limited and you are best to plan early, if you don’t want to miss out. New Zealand campervan hire is very seasonal. During summer, and especially over Christmas and New Year’s, every functioning campervan in New Zealand is on the road, with campervan suppliers fully booked and the entire country humming with activity. During winter quite the opposite occurs and campervan depots have an over-supply of vehicles. This explains the huge variation in price. The best deals can be had during off-season times, i.e. from April to October. So if you are flexible with your travel dates, it is best to celebrate Christmas at home and take off on your NZ campervan holiday after the big rush. February and March are still good months to travel if you want some summer temperature. Although we are only just heading into the New Zealand winter, most of the lower price campervans are already fully booked for the coming Christmas and New Year! If you are on a budget, there is no time to waste. Contact us for a Free Campervan Hire Quote today!

Family Campervan Hire | Successful Holidays with Children
Travelling with children? Choosing the right campervan is essential for a happy campervan holiday in New Zealand. Besides the obvious challenges you may face when travelling with children, the campervan hire vehicle choice has the potential to make or break your entire experience. This article highlights some important factors to consider before booking your family campervan hire vehicle for your adventure in New Zealand. - The layout is critical as to how the campervan performs as your family home away from home. Having your children within reach while driving is essential. Many 4 Berth style campervans only provide two seats in the front, for the driver and passenger, and two seats in the rear of the vehicle. - The ideal family campervan layout should have unobstructed access between the driver’s cabin and passenger seats. A small selection of 2+1 and 4 Berth campervans have their additional seats positioned directly behind the driver’s cabin or in the centre of the campervan. If no such vehicle is available for your travel details or you are travelling with more than 4 people, your best choice may be a 6 Berth campervan. - Children (and adults alike) are not happy when they are cold and with New Zealand’s chilly southerly changes, there is always the possibility of some cold weather. Although a powered campsite works the electric heating in your campervan, it is much more convenient if your campervan features it’s own independent gas or diesel central heating system. - Storage space is worth considering, especially for a one-way campervan hire between Auckland and Christchurch. You want to make sure your campervan offers plenty of space for your baby stroller, portable cot, suitcases, sun umbrella, boogie boards and all your other bits and pieces.

Autumn Campervan Hire in New Zealand
Autumn in New Zealand - Shorter days, the odd cold rain shower and grandma's hand-knitted socks make a frequent appearance - Why on earth travel New Zealand in a Hire Campervan during autumn?! ... New Zealand can dish up some of the most mindblowing scenery during autumn. Beautiful trees in all different autumn colours next to sparkling clear lakes and rivers. Misty mornings with a light fog, calm atmosphere and the dew on the grass, which makes everything shine. The rainforests are lush, the birdlife incredible and you will simply be blown away by spectacular views every single day. Campervan hire costs start to decrease in March and you get a lot more for your money. During peak periods campervan hire prices double, triple and sometimes quadruple! So if you are on a budget try and plan your New Zealand campervan hire outside the main holiday season. Besides cheaper prices, the overall service from campervan hire providers is superior. Less stress at the campervan depots means staff are more relaxed and able to spend valuable time with their customers and general maintenance duties. ... Due to the high potential of cold nights your campervan should ideally be equipped with an independent gas or diesel heating system. If you have to rely on electric 240V heating only, you will feel the cold if you are camping away from powered campsites. Not many campervan hire providers feature vehicles with independent heating, so make sure to check this important detail prior to booking a campervan. ... Either way, feel free to contact us with your travel plans and we will assist where we can - be it campervan hire, car hire, general travel advice, hotel recommendations, fuel prices, popular walks, your personalized itinerary, you name it - The team at Pro Camper looks forward to assisting you!
