Family Campervan Hire | Successful Holidays with Children
Travelling with children? Choosing the right campervan is essential for a happy campervan holiday in New Zealand. Besides the obvious challenges you may face when travelling with children, the campervan hire vehicle choice has the potential to make or break your entire experience. This article highlights some important factors to consider before booking your family campervan hire vehicle for your adventure in New Zealand. - The layout is critical as to how the campervan performs as your family home away from home. Having your children within reach while driving is essential. Many 4 Berth style campervans only provide two seats in the front, for the driver and passenger, and two seats in the rear of the vehicle. - The ideal family campervan layout should have unobstructed access between the driver’s cabin and passenger seats. A small selection of 2+1 and 4 Berth campervans have their additional seats positioned directly behind the driver’s cabin or in the centre of the campervan. If no such vehicle is available for your travel details or you are travelling with more than 4 people, your best choice may be a 6 Berth campervan. - Children (and adults alike) are not happy when they are cold and with New Zealand’s chilly southerly changes, there is always the possibility of some cold weather. Although a powered campsite works the electric heating in your campervan, it is much more convenient if your campervan features it’s own independent gas or diesel central heating system. - Storage space is worth considering, especially for a one-way campervan hire between Auckland and Christchurch. You want to make sure your campervan offers plenty of space for your baby stroller, portable cot, suitcases, sun umbrella, boogie boards and all your other bits and pieces.

Autumn Campervan Hire in New Zealand
Autumn in New Zealand - Shorter days, the odd cold rain shower and grandma's hand-knitted socks make a frequent appearance - Why on earth travel New Zealand in a Hire Campervan during autumn?! ... New Zealand can dish up some of the most mindblowing scenery during autumn. Beautiful trees in all different autumn colours next to sparkling clear lakes and rivers. Misty mornings with a light fog, calm atmosphere and the dew on the grass, which makes everything shine. The rainforests are lush, the birdlife incredible and you will simply be blown away by spectacular views every single day. Campervan hire costs start to decrease in March and you get a lot more for your money. During peak periods campervan hire prices double, triple and sometimes quadruple! So if you are on a budget try and plan your New Zealand campervan hire outside the main holiday season. Besides cheaper prices, the overall service from campervan hire providers is superior. Less stress at the campervan depots means staff are more relaxed and able to spend valuable time with their customers and general maintenance duties. ... Due to the high potential of cold nights your campervan should ideally be equipped with an independent gas or diesel heating system. If you have to rely on electric 240V heating only, you will feel the cold if you are camping away from powered campsites. Not many campervan hire providers feature vehicles with independent heating, so make sure to check this important detail prior to booking a campervan. ... Either way, feel free to contact us with your travel plans and we will assist where we can - be it campervan hire, car hire, general travel advice, hotel recommendations, fuel prices, popular walks, your personalized itinerary, you name it - The team at Pro Camper looks forward to assisting you!

X-Mas + New Year's now Fully Booked - Campervan Hire NZ
Haven't secured a campervan for your Christmas or New Year's holiday yet? Oops! Your chances are now very slim, if you are trying to find an available campervan for New Zealand's peak holiday period. The majority of campervan hire companies is now fully booked from 20 December through to 5 January. There is the odd availability for 2 Berths and smaller vehicles without shower and toilet, e.g. Toyota Hiace campervans. Some sleepervan style campers are also still available over Christmas. Unfortunately, all 4 or 6 Berth family campervans are now fully booked. The possibilities of cancellation is real, but very slim. Might as well buy a lotto ticket today ... INSIDER TIP! As you may know, one of New Zealand's largest campervan hire companies went into receivership last July. Their huge fleet of high quality campervans is now on sale until 17 October 2013. If we are lucky and another campervan hire company buys some of these vehicles, there might be a fresh injection of extra campervans bookable for this holiday period! Fingers crossed! So. If you are still looking for campervan hire over Christmas or New Year's, get in touch with us straight away. Should new vehicles come on the market within the next month, we will do our best to secure one for you*.

Pacific Horizon in Receivership
Sadly, one of our main business partners was put into receivership last week. On 15 July 2013 receivers were appointed to sell assets and recover outstanding debt on behalf of secured creditors. We were one of the first partner companies to be informed of Pacific Horizon's receivership. The receivers at KordaMentha contacted us on Monday to advise that our clients would not be able to collect their campervans from then on. They also informed us, that it was unlikely any of our future bookings could be honoured. It's an understatment to say that it was shocking to get this news. Pacific Horizon was a very trustworthy, reliable and high quality rental provider. We worked closely with their entire team and their friendly customer service will be missed truly. Pacific Horizon offered a fantastic fleet of functional and innovative campervans and motorhomes ...

Campervan Hire New Zealand - Benefits of Booking Agents
While there is no real disadvantage when booking directly with a campervan hire company, you will find that you can benefit in many ways using a campervan hire Booking Agency for your New Zealand Campervan Hire. As prices, availability and special deals change daily, having someone who is familiar with all the different campervan hire options and hire conditions in New Zealand is a big advantage. Let someone else do the running around for you! As long as the agent is located in New Zealand (check this!), you can be sure that they have inspected the hire campervans and know the different hire conditions, insurance exclusions and any hidden fees there may be. If you get to meet a good Booking Agent (like us! just saying ...), then you can rely on them to find, organize and book your campervan hire in New Zealand. Beyond that, you can also ask them any questions that come to mind. Campervan Booking Agents deal with campervans and motorhomes every single day. They stay up to date with new developments and have access to online pricing systems. As you may not have booked a campervan in New Zealand before, using the good knowledge of a local agent is highly valuable. Agents inspect vehicles regularly and although a campervan looks all pretty and shiny online, it may not be that way when you pick it up. I have spoken to many campervan travelers over the years, who were not happy with their vehicle. Don’t take a gamble on your NZ holiday.
