New Zealand Campervan Hire - Spring 2012
When is the best time to travel New Zealand by Campervan Hire or Motorhome Rental?
Well - if you ask me - all 4 Seasons are packed full of unique beauty. But as we are entering Spring Time here in New Zealand, I will make this blog post about this special time of the year.
Imagine waking up to bird songs, waves breaking on the nearby beach and the smell of fresh coffee with your partner cooking breakfast in your Campervan Hire. You are parked at a prime beach-front location, nobody else in sight, just you, your loved one and the endless beauty of New Zealand. 100% Happy Times!
The main aim is to make your experience close to New Zealand's nature and people. How much more intimate can you get to a country than traveling it in a Campervan or Motorhome - spending 24 hours a day in the New Zealand Wilderness? Well, biking or tramping are other options, ... but I think we all agree that some luxuries, like a roof and a cozy bed, are must-haves for a relaxing holiday.
During Spring Time New Zealand's weather can be unsettled and changeable. A Camper van Hire offers protection from the elements and the flexibility to change location quickly. Just buy today's newspaper to check out the weather forecast, ask the locals or simply call us at Pro Camper. We live here, have access to accurate weather maps and are more than happy to help you with your decisions. Contact Us Today!
Make sure you pack clothes for all seasons during Spring Time. Honestly, it can be up to 25 degrees and the next day you wake up to a frost and the maximum temperature doesn't make it past 10 degrees. I recommend plenty of layers, so you can adjust quickly. The more practical your clothes the better. Storage, especially hanging space, in a Hire Camper van is limited. There are tons of shops in New Zealand with beautiful garments made of merino wool, (which is the most amazing fibre on earth, if you ask me. But that's another story.)
So just keep in mind, that you will probably buy some clothes and accessories in NZ. It's always wise to travel light. One outfit you do not want to leave behind is a weatherproof jacket and, if you have them, bring your waterproof trousers as well.
As to the best location in New Zealand during Spring Time - I recommend the South Island. The snow capped mountain peaks combined with the lush spring landscape is one sight not to be missed. Some days it is warm enough for sunbathing by a lakeside or to enjoy a scoop of delicious New Zealand ice cream.
