A Short Motorhome Holiday
It was time for a long weekend. So we headed south towards Wanaka in our motorhome rental.
The weather was gorgeous and the views incredible! We stopped many times just to take in the scenery.
Our journey took us past Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki along the canal road (highly recommended!).
After coffee and cake at Twizel we carried on over Lindis Pass all the way to Wanaka.
It is always great to arrive in Wanaka. We have been there many times before but it is such a fantastic place!
We stayed on for 3 days in our motorhome rental and had a good look around. Drove up to Treble Cone and Cardrona ski fields. Visited some friends in picturesque Arrowtown near Queenstown. And discovered Clyde & Lake Dunstan. If you like Arrowtown but find it a bit too touristy, then you will absolutely love Clyde! It's a quiet place with plenty of history and some fantastic old buildings. I had delicious lunch at the Bank Café which is located in an old Bank of New Zealand building on Sunderland Street. Hot Tip!
There are wonderful vineyards in this area. Mount Difficulty vineyard was our choice for early dinner. The wine was outstanding!
A perfect motorhome rental holiday overall! Can't wait to do it again!
